The Lopesan Meloneras Golf is found excellently situated next to the sea in the exclusive tourist zone of Costa Meloneras, in the south part of Gran Canaria. The course, 18 holes par 71, has been designed by the American Ron Kirby and is 520.00 m2. The construction of Lopesan Meloneras Golf has provided an important transformation of the environment in which it is located. Thus, what up to now was an area of scarce environmental value has been converted today into a lovely beauty spot in which more than 1,100 different species of palm trees have been planted. Among them, the phoenix canariensis, better known as the Canary Palm Tree, this is cultivated by this company in their own breeding grounds.
The course has a different variety of grass with an elevated tolerance to the salinity of the water, resistant to illness, and needs a smaller quantity of water to be looked after compared with other types of grass.
