• Kleinwalsertal – the fascinating Austrian mountain area with amazing views and an abundance of nature. 30 alpine peaks surround the valley which is at an altitude of 1100 to 1,250 meters. Lying between Vorarlberg, Tyrol and Allgäu the Kleinwalsertal has many surprises due to its geographic position. You will hear a dialect that cannot deny its Swiss origins.
  
  On the Hochifen, Kanzelwand and the Walmendinger Horn are the most beautiful walking areas of the Kleinwalsertal and which also form part of the ski region which can be swiftly reached. This area, along with Oberstdorf is where the Skiing World Championships will be held in 2005.
  
  The combined Ski Pass “Kleinwalsertal – Oberstdorf” allows you to use all the facilities: 50 mountain railways and lifts up to 2,000 meters are awaiting you.
  
  Using the “Guest Card” you can have free entry to the Walser Museum in Riezlern. Here there is interesting information about life in the region, the history, the inhabitants and the way in which they lived. Perhaps you would like to try your luck in the Kleinwalsertal Casino in Riezlern!
  
  Hirschegg is a picture-book village with many old houses and here you will find the Ski Museum which houses an interesting collection of items about winter sports. There is also a photographic exhibition showing the beginnings and development of alpine skiing from 1905 to 1940.
  
  The Bergschau, with its three exhibitions, demonstrates the evolution of the flora and fauna in the Allgäu Alps in an exciting and interesting way. You can even search for the clues to this development by following the “Walser Cultural Path” which will lead you to 40 fascinating places consisting of buildings, lakes and monuments.
  
  All the bus routes in the valley are free of charge with your “Guest Card”. All places in the valley are easily and quickly reached direct from the IFA Hotel Alpenrose.
  
  Back in 1972 the Kleinwalsertal was voted the most beautiful holiday region in Austria – it remains so today.
